What Nithsdale Amateur Rowing Club keeps when you get in touch through this website, why, who sees it, and how long it’s kept.
Who we are
Nithsdale Amateur Rowing Club is a rowing club and Scottish charity (SC039249) at Greensands, Nith Avenue, Dumfries DG1 1EF. The club decides what happens to the details you give it. For anything about your details, email inquiries@nithsdalerowing.org.
What we keep
When you fill in the “Get involved” form, we keep:
- who it’s for: you, or your child
- what you’re interested in
- your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number
- for rowing on the water, whether you’ve rowed before and can swim the distance asked
- anything you write in the note
- when you sent it and agreed to us keeping it
A parent registering for a child gives only their own details. We keep nothing about the child.
Why we keep it
Only to get back to you about what you asked about: a place on the beginners’ course, how juniors join, rowing again, indoor rowing or helping out. We don’t use it for anything else, and we never sell it or pass it on.
The law lets us keep it because you agree to it when you tick the box on the form. You can change your mind at any time.
Who sees it
The club’s membership secretary and the volunteers who run the website, each signed in to the club’s admin with their own account. Nobody else at the club sees it, and nothing is emailed around.
Where it’s kept
On the servers that run this website, provided by Railway, in the UK or the EU.
If the form shows a spam check, it is run by Cloudflare, which sees your internet address and browser to tell people from bots. Visits to the site are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you.
How long we keep it
Twelve months after we last updated where things stand with you, after which it’s deleted automatically. If you join the club, your details move to the club’s membership records instead.
Cookies
The public website sets no cookies. Only the volunteers who sign in to run it get one, to keep them signed in.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your agreement at any time. Email inquiries@nithsdalerowing.org.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
